Last week, the California ACLU released an alarming report about California law enforcement agencies’ covert use of social media surveillance software. The report compiles records requested of 63 police departments, sheriffs, and district attorneys across the state. The ACLU found over 40% are using the software without any transparency or public disclosure. They also reported law enforcement officers may be using the social media surveillance software in a way that specifically targets activists of color.

The three primary pieces of software cited in the ACLU report are MediaSonar, X1 Social Discovery, andGeofeedia. These tools are marketed to law enforcement agencies as ways to keep track of protesters, particularly protesters and activists of color.

It has been a long time since the ACLU cared about the Constitutional rights and liberties of the general population. Their job is to protect the Cloward and Piven exploited classes to further economic disruption and bankruptcy of the nation with the intent of replacing the Constitutional Republic with some Marxist fantasy that cannot and will not ever exist. That social experiment has been done over and again and failed every time. It just ends up the shared misery and enslavement of the people by sickos who implement a police state to serve their own luxuries.
    Leftism is hate.

Here’s a dumb question,…is commenting on sites like this considered “social media”, or is it just the facebooks, twitters, instagrams etc?

“…MAY be using the social media surveillance software in a way that specifically targets activists of color.” Note they said “may be” which means speculation only. Could there be a ulterior motive to speculate this particular ting and report it to the media in this type of MSM climate?

Any platform that shares conversation or whatever b.s. is considered social media..in the case on this site it is Disqus.

  • Go easy on yourself there, take a tip from journos – we learn pretty quick that the only dumb question is the one we don’t ask. AKA there are no dumb questions.

    Happy hunting!
