More Than 130,000 Navy Sailors’ Personal Data Stolen

More than 100,000 American sailors’ personal data was stolen in a recent security breach, the Navy revealed Wednesday.

The names and social security numbers for 134,386 sailors were lifted from a contractor’s laptop, according to Navy Times. The Navy was notified of the breach last month by Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services, which reported that one of the contractor’s laptops was “compromised.” The stolen data was pulled from the Career Waypoints Database, a Navy re-enlistment database. – READ MORE
