London Police Gun Down Terrorists With ‘Unprecedented Number Of Rounds’
Authorities reportedly neutralized the three London terrorist attackers with “unprecedented” firepower.
Eight police officers discharged 50 shots at the three suspects, as they appeared to be wearing what authorities suspected were suicide belts rigged with explosives, Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley, Britain’s senior counterterrorism officer, revealed Sunday reports CNN.
The belts turned out to be fakes designed to spread fear and panic.
“I’m not surprised when faced with what they feared were three suicide bombers,” Rowley explained, according to the BBC. “The firearms officers fired an unprecedented number of rounds to be completely confident that they had neutralized the threat that those men posed.”

“I am humbled by the bravery of an officer who will rush towards a potential suicide bomber thinking only of protecting others,” he remarked.
As the officers fired on the suspects, a civilian suffered a gunshot wound. That individual is presently receiving treatment, as the hit was not critical.
Three men slammed a van into pedestrians on the London Bridge Saturday night. Afterwards, they entered the Borough Market area, where they stabbed innocent civilians at random. Seven people were killed in the attacks, and another four dozen were wounded. Authorities are investigating the situation.
The three attackers are dead, but the police have arrested twelve other suspects with alleged ties to the attack.
While authorities have declared the Saturday incident a terrorist attack, no group has yet come forward to claim responsibility. Prime Minister Theresa May has, however, condemned the attacks as a byproduct of an “evil ideology of Islamic extremism.” She warned that “things cannot continue as they are,” adding that “enough is enough.”
