Know Why Santa’s from the North Pole? It’s Because of Politics

Santa Claus isn’t normally associated with politics. In fact, he is perhaps best thought of as an apolitical figure, but it might surprise many people to discover that he wasn’t always that way.

According to History.net, there is an interesting reason why Santa ended up at the North Pole, and it began with artist Thomas Nast, who was instrumental in establishing the modern version of Santa, including Santa being a jolly, chubby and kind man wearing a red suit and delivering toys to children from his North Pole workshop.

For a later issue in 1866, Nast drew Santa in a workshop and gave him the North Pole address so apparently no other country could use him for propaganda as Nast had done during the Civil War, reported History.net. – READ MORE
