(Daily Caller) Kellyanne Conway, recently named President-elect Donald Trump’s counselor, said on NBC the unverified reports alleging collusion between Trump and Russia may be tied to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Conway’s appearance on NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” aired hours after news broke Tuesday that U.S. intelligence agencies briefed Trump, President Barack Obama and congressional leaders on a report that claims the president-elect may be compromised by the Russian government.
“I have to ask — this broke while I was changing for the show — CNN had a report that the intelligence community briefed both the president and the president-elect with allegations that the Russian government has compromising information on President-elect Trump,” Meyers said.
Meyers asked Conway, “Can you confirm or comment on the fact that the intelligence community has presented this?”
“Well guess what hasn’t happened Seth? No one has sourced it, it’s all unnamed,” Conway responded. “It also says that Hillary Clinton and and groups that wanted Hillary Clinton to win may have been behind the investigation themselves.”
CNN confirmed that private investigations related to Trump were initially funded by groups and donors supporting Republican opponents of Trump during the GOP primaries, and that once Trump became the nominee, pro-Clinton groups and donors took over the funding.
Conway also pointed out that the FBI still hasn’t confirmed the report, and expressed frustration with intelligence leaks to the media.

Conway addressed the audience at one point, which seemed to have an unfavorable view of the president-elect.
“You have such disrespect, I guess I’m just astonished. I’m almost 50 years old and and I’m so astonished to hear people outwardly ridicule the office of the president and its current occupant,” Conway lamented to Meyers. “I was raised differently, no matter who it is,” she continued.
