Hillary Clinton’s campaign guru John Podesta is no fan of Hillary confidant Sidney Blumenthal, according to emails released Wednesday by Wikileaks, where Podesta asks a former aide to “promise to shoot me if I end up like” Blumenthal.
The May 2015 email exchange with Neera Tanden, Clinton’s 2008 campaign policy director is fairly comical, unless you’re Blumenthal and provides a rare glimpse into Podesta’s catty side. Tanden, who is currently the President of Center for American Progress, a progressive public policy research and advocacy organization in Washington, DC, tells Podesta that Blumentahal “is the gift that keeps on giving!”
“It always amazes me that people like Sid either completely lack self awareness or self respect,” Podesta replied. “Maybe both. Will you promise to shoot me if I ever end up like that?”
