John Perry, slain soldier from Taliban attack, honored during transfer to Arlington Cemetery

Hundreds of Delaware students turned out Wednesday to honor a deceased veteran as his remains were transferred from Dover Air Force Base to Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

The Gold Star family of Army Staff Sergeant John Perry was recently booed on a Nov. 14 American Airlines flight from Sacramento to Delaware to meet their son’s remains. Students from Fred Fifer III Middle School sought to send a different message on Wednesday by lining up to honor the fallen soldier’s procession. – READ MORE
