ISIS Claims Credit For Kabul Mosque Attack That Killed Dozens

The Islamic State claimed credit for a suicide bomb attack on a Shiite mosque in Afghanistan’s capital on Monday that killed more than two dozen people and injured dozens more.

The Amaq News Agency, an ISIS-linked media organization, said a militant for the Sunni terror group detonated the explosives inside the mosque in Kabul towards the end of a prayer ceremony to commemorate Imam Hussein, the Prophet Muhammad’s grandson and one of Shiite Islam’s 12 imams, or saints. The blast killed at least 27 people and injured more than 80, the Guardian reported, citing a spokesman for Afghanistan’s ministry of health. – READ MORE
