Many Americans find it hard if not impossible to believe that the leftist propaganda machine aka the mainstream media is purposely and actively misleading the American people regarding the inherent dangers of Islam. In a sane world, what news agency would deliberately put their loyal audience at significant risk let alone the country?
To start, the term “radical Islam” often used by the leftist mainstream media just does not exist outside of Western culture or in Islam itself. The left has invented the term to explain the barbarism within a violent political ideology they perpetrate as being a peaceful religion. However, violence is and has always been an integral part of Islam and would not be considered by faithful followers of Islam as radical any more than Christians would find a belief in the risen Lord as radical. When the term “radical Islam” is used by the leftist media or by Western politicians, it is done so either out of ignorance or deceit because Islam is very clear on the use of force to spread its ideology. According to Dr. Bill Warner (Center of the Study of Political Islam), Jihad had 548 battles in 1,300 years (630 to 1920) with 270 million of the conquered killed, and it continues today. In 1400 years, 12 decades were free of Jihad, which means that Islam was 91% violent and 9% peaceful.
During the eight years of the Obama administration, the fourth estate relinquished its independence, objectivity and its credibility. Reporters, commentators, and news anchors became the political protectors of the President, and as such, vehemently complicit with Obama’s blatant refusal to mention the word Islam when it came to jihadist attacks around the world.
Calling a terrorist attack a terrorist attack is getting closer to the truth but still falls far short of identifying the actual cause, which is Islam itself. However, the government and the leftist media make no attempt at even considering that fact. When Major Nidal Malik Hasan massacred thirteen people at Ft. Hood, Texas, in November 2009, the U.S. government called the jihadist attack “workplace violence.” When gunman, Omar Mateen, killed 49 people in an Orlando nightclub, he made a 911 call from inside the shooting, where he pledged his allegiance to ISIS, however, the FBI and Department of Justice released the transcript but omitted the word ISIS.

If one only read or watched the leftist propaganda machine when looking for information regarding the worldwide beheadings, bombings and other atrocities one could reasonably conclude that Islam had nothing to do with any of it; that radicals, organized religion or lone nuts were responsible. In fact, no matter how many suicide bombings were the result of a follower of Islam, President Obama, and the leftist propaganda machine would make sure to mention either the crusades of 800 years ago or their standard red herring Timothy McVeigh. What the left will never admit to is the inescapable fact that ji are blowing themselves up along with innocent victims because of a direct connection with what is written in the Quran, something that can not be said about the motivating force of any other “religious” terrorist assuming such a person exists.
Christian apologist and philosopher David Wood, the co-founder of Acts 17 apologetics and worst nightmare to Muslim apologist debaters, systematically exposed and dismantled the fabrications regarding Islam told by ABC News 20/20 in his 26-minute video response entitled “Whitewashing Islam.” Wood pointed out 20 specific misrepresentations told by host Dianne Sawyer as well as several guests on the one-hour show called, “Islam: Questions and Answers.” Although the show aired back in September 2010, it remains one of the best examples as to the lengths a major network will go to deceive the American citizen regarding Islam.
In one section Wood plays a clip with Sawyer saying, “Mohammed said that we should all be tolerant of each other’s religion.” That might sound good except that nowhere in the Quran did Mohammad ever say it. Wood points out what Mohammed actually said by using the Qur’an in 9:29 that states, “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth, from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.” And in Qur’an 9:123—“O you who believe! Fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find in you hardness.”
While trying to keep a straight face, one 20/20 guest, Irshad Manji, Director of the NYU’s Moral Courage Project responded to a question which asked if Jihadi martyrs are promised 72 virgins. She responded by saying that because of a mistranslation of the word “houri,” Muslim martyrs are not promised 72 virgins but rather 72 raisins. So if Irshad Manji is correct, then jihadists from all over the globe are blowing themselves up to get a box of raisins they could buy at the corner store for $1.50. And so extrapolating from Manji’s absurd statement, when the Quran uses the words houri and martyrs together it must be saying that martyrs will marry these raisins that all have beautiful eyes, large breasts and love their husbands. Another guest, Author, Reza Aslan, a frequent commentator on leftist mainstream media programs, talked about the meaning of a Fatwa. Back in 1989, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini of Iran issued a Fatwa ordering Muslims to kill author Salman Rushdie for his publication of the Satanic Verses. And although that Fatwa made international news and caused Rushdie to live under police protection, Aslan stated that Fatwas are “meaningless opinions.” But Wood points out the reality that fatwas are rulings by Muslim scholars based on the teachings of Muhammad.
For Manji and Reza to lie about the violent teachings of Islam is understandable since Muslims are taught the use of Taqiyya (lying and deception) when they are in a country where they are in the minority. But there’s no excuse for ABC’s 20/20 to air untrue trash and label it useful information for their viewers to consume regarding Islam.
Because priorities for today’s leftist mainstream media no longer includes the dissemination of accurate information, but rather the promotion of a far left ideology geared at dismantling traditionally accepted American values, they see anyone with values running counter to those of The United States as being morally superior. With their political blinders held tightly in place along with their unshakable misguided loyalty, the leftist mainstream media deny reality as well as history as they perpetrate outright lies and spread an entirely unfounded peaceful image of Islam.
