The United States Mint is now somewhere between a “small step” and a “giant leap” closer to striking coins for the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing.

The U.S. House of Representatives on Monday voted unanimously to pass the “Apollo 11 50th Anniversary Commemorative Coin Act,” calling for the Mint to produce curved coins in gold, silver and clad to recognize the five decades since astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins launched on the first lunar landing mission. – READ MORE

    don’t get me started………
First the ‘swamp’ will find a donor who can design the art “work” w/a lucrative contract with promises of more donations; probably a democrat donor. Then, you got to let a contract to do a prototype pressing of the final design, which was discussed by Swampers over an $100/plate lunch in Georgetown somewhere. The final “contract/bribe” will be given to some special mint that has made beaucoup donations to both dems and reps and sometime next Fall we may see a coin offered at an outrageous sum of money; all proceeds of which will go to a friend of the Swampers.
This, I hope, will be VETOED by Trump.
There have been hundreds of commemorative collectibles regarding the U.S. space efforts over the years (look on freaking E-bay!) and another one will do nothing but enrich the Swamp!
This country is $19 Trillion in debt–its time to start CUTTING AND ELIMINATING NON-ESSENTIALS.
I have seen John Glenn’s capsule IN PERSON. He was braver than I could ever be. But yet another commemoration only serves to flatter the narcissism of the most disgusting bunch of hooligans ever to run this country.
It’s time to put a STOP(!!!) TO WASTEFUL SPENDING AND THIS IS A GOOD PLACE TO START.
