The man charged in the execution-style killing of a Queens imam and his aide claims he does not hate Muslims — and that he didn’t pull the trigger.
“It wasn’t me, it wasn’t me,” Oscar Morel explained Wednesday, speaking to The Post from Rikers Island.
The 35-year-old janitor looked disheveled — his eyes heavy and his face unshaven — as he sat behind a glass divider at the city jail’s Vernon C. Bain Center.
After maintaining his innocence, Morel abruptly got up and walked away to leave — but then returned to state his case when told about the claims that he had murdered Maulama Akonjee, 55, and Thara Uddin, 64, simply because they were Muslim.
