Allies of former President Barack Obama have gone all out in their effort to defeat Roy Moore’s Senate candidacy.
Highway 31, a Birmingham-based super PAC that is lead by former staffers of the Democrat president, has spent over $4 million in campaign advertising to support Doug Jones’ campaign for the Alabama Senate seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
As the campaign between Jones and Moore comes to a close, the pro-Jones group flooded the airwaves with a last-minute ad buy, spending $468,000 on Friday alone, according Breitbart.
Founded on Nov. 6 and named after a major highway that cuts through Alabama, Highway 31 is a shell independent expenditure group formed by several consulting firms based in Washington, D.C.
