Former DNC Head: ‘None Of Your Business’ How Much Obama Is Paid For Speeches (VIDEO)
Former Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz said Tuesday it’s “none of anyone’s business” how much money former President Barack Obama makes for a speech to a Wall Street bank.
“It is none of anyone’s business what someone who is a member of the private sector decides to accept in terms of compensation, with all due respect to anyone who chooses to comment publicly on what Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, or anyone earns as a member of the private sector. It’s just, like, MYOB,” Wasserman Schultz told CNN’s Erin Burnett Tuesday night, citing the acronym for “mind your own business.”
She added, “It’s none of your business.”
President Obama is reportedly earning $400,000 to deliver remarks in September to Cantor Fitzgerald, a trading and investment firm.
Vermont independent Sen, Bernie Sanders, who decried Wall St. banks during his presidential campaign, said the transaction was “unfortunate,” while Massachusetts Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren said she was “troubled” by it.
“I look more at the public record of someone like Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton. And their public record is pristine. They both fought back against the big banks and their practices and I have every confidence in the service they both provided,” Wasserman Schultz said.
