According to Soviet documents unearthed in the early 1990’s, Kennedy literally asked the Soviets, avowed enemies of the U.S., to intervene on behalf of the Democratic party in the 1984 elections. Kennedy’s communist communique was so secret that it was not discovered until 1991, eight years after Kennedy had initiated his Soviet gambit:

Picking his way through the Soviet archives that Boris Yeltsin had just thrown open, in 1991 Tim Sebastian, a reporter for the London Times, came across an arresting memorandum. Composed in 1983 by Victor Chebrikov, the top man at the KGB, the memorandum was addressed to Yuri Andropov, the top man in the entire USSR. The subject: Sen. Edward Kennedy.

“On 9-10 May of this year,” the May 14 memorandum explained, “Sen. Edward Kennedy’s close friend and trusted confidant [John] Tunney was in Moscow.” (Tunney was Kennedy’s law school roommate and a former Democratic senator from California.) “The senator charged Tunney to convey the following message, through confidential contacts, to the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Y. Andropov.” – READ MORE

I’m really not sure that all these people comparing what Trump has done to Edward Kennedy sleaze, or to Obama colluding with Iran, are really that helpful.

  • West_Coast

Russians asked Flynn about sanctions. The horror! Ted Kennedy asked Russians to help defeat Reagan. That’s Cool!

  • Susan Trochlil Tangeman

Just showing how ironic it is.

  • Lorin Chane Partain

Where were the calls for investigations back then? Crickets.

A communist asking another communist for help.

Democrats and the DNC have been working for years to undermine our country, our laws, Americans love of freedom… we all know the tactics used and now they are using same dirty underhanded tactics to undermine Pres. Trump. Do not get too comfortable just because he has been elected, we cannot let the Left insurgents take away our Americanism, we have to keep the pressure on the Left, we need to keep going to the rallies and townhall meeting to drown out the Ugly Left.

This is hilarious. The best you can do is that a dead Kennedy tried (and failed) to cooperate with Russia. Whereas you are happy to overlook that Trump got into power thanks, at least in part, to Russia and a murderous dictator (Putin). Sad!

Maybe we can dig him up and charge him with Treason!

  • NWWarrior

Big difference. There is evidence that Kennedy asked for help in effecting the american elections. There is NO EVIDENCE that Trump did.

  • Garp

No evidence in the GOP land apparently means “under active investigation by the FBI and Congress, and they don’t reveal the evidence openly, at least until the process is over.” Yet, there is obviously enough evidence that they are investigating. And in the meantime, from when I left my comment 3 months ago, Trump has tried to obstruct justice. If he is not involved or guilty, why is he so eager to fire Comey and anyone that might investigate him?
