While FBI Director Christopher Wray testifies today in Congress, Sen. Chuck Grassley wants deputy director Andrew McCabe on the hot seat next to answer troubling questions from lawmakers, according to congressional and FBI sources.
The embattled McCabe could be summoned to Grassley’s Senate Judiciary Committee or another related committee but Grassley wants answers from the deputy director about many of the emerging scandals in the Bureau that keep circling back to McCabe. These include Hatch Act violations which Grassley has been investigating against McCabe.
Sources said this could happen as soon as next week and they believed the hearing would be closed to the public and media.
