Anthony Weiner, the disgraced former Congressman who pleaded guilty in May to sexting with a 15-year-old girl, was sentenced Monday to 21 months in prison.

Weiner, 53, also faces spending the rest of his life as a registered sex offender for his lengthy and lurid social media contacts with the North Carolina teen.

Weiner cried as he read from a written statement in Manhattan federal court, saying he has hit “rock bottom.” He said he was “a very sick man for a very long time.”

UPDATE: 4:35 pm– EST

Sentencing Details —

Weiner will report to federal prison on Nov. 6, per his Judge Cote’s decision.

Part of his plea deal is no appeal of the sentence. This is standard.

We spoke with the US Attorney’s Office today and the Bureau of Prisons. Weiner will likely serve his time in a Federal Correctional Institute in New York or possibly Connecticut, though this has not yet been determined.

While his sentence is for 21 months, he could be released on or around 17+ months pending a review.

Weiner was also fined $10,000.

Weiner must undergo internet monitoring after his release.

Weiner must also enroll in a sex-offender treatment program.
