America’s ongoing opioid crisis is no secret. With thousands dying from prescription painkiller overdoses each year — nearly as many as traffic deaths — even the U.S. government has been forced to take action. As awareness of the epidemic continues to grow, further hazards of the pharmaceutical class of drugs are being revealed — including potentially higher numbers of deaths caused by their use.

Of course it is, and the whole thing was planned. The Surgeon Gen changed the rules over night practically guaranteeing everyone with a hang nail got a big enough script of vicodin (or whatever) to become physically dependent. Usually those scripts were continued for a couple of years then they yanked the rug out from under ppl also over night guaranteeing a turn to heroin or illegal prescription drugs. This made sure to bring the illegal immigrants pouring into the country to feed all the new drug habits.
These MF should be drug into streets and shot. Oh and I forgot to add the most important part. What was suspiciously missing from all those heavy narcotic prescriptions handed out by legal drug dealers? The literature explaining to people the dangers of using the drugs. The chances of becoming dependent upon them and what it would do to their body physically to suddenly stop taking them. Which is literally how they cut them off. No warning – no attempt by physicians to wean them off just boom- when they showed up to get their scripts filled monthly at the Dr. all the sudden the Dr refused to write the scripts.
